– Upcoming Events – Norton Release Party Saturday, January 21, 2012, 1-5 PM It's back! Our new 2010 vintage of Virginia Native Norton is being released. We've been sold out of the prior vintage for six months, so we're glad to be back! We'll have music by Mattie Fuller and snacks (yes, chocolate which is such a nice pairing) and our new wine ... and our full wine menu too. Rain or shine, or snow ... you Norton fans have been waiting, we know.
Valentine's Sunday Brunch Sunday, February 12, 2012 11:30 AM We are delighted to again be offering our elegant Valentine's brunch this year, with catering by Mark Gresge and the acclaimed l'Etoile restaurant in Charlottesville. Four courses paired with DuCard wines - yum. We'll have our friend Vicky Lee playing the harp and the fireplace will be glowing. Rose' Release Party Saturday, March 3, 2012, 1-5 PM We didn't know what to expect when we released our inaugural French-style rose last year. Well, it sold out in three months. So we made more in the next vintage - and here it is. Think pink. Think refreshing aperitif. Don't pair it with ANY food! Just enjoy. Come try it out at our unveiling, with live music (not Pink) and fireplace (red and orange).

Curtis Prince: live and in concert Sunday, November 13, 2011, 1-5 PM Curtis Prince is a local singer songwriter with deep local roots and a great sound. You'll enjoy hanging out on the patio with some wine and hearing him play. Come on out - fall color will still be there we expect, but it's fun regardless. No cover charge.
Mattie Rocks ! - music on the patio Saturday, October 29, 2011, 1-5 PM Our friend Mattie Fuller returns to DuCard for his fun blend of acoustic, pop, rock and such. Fall color should be fantastic out the back of the tasting room. Combine your visit with a hike of Old Rag Mountain or White Oak Canyon falls - each just five minutes away. No cover charge.
Wings over Wine Country Saturday, September 17, 2011, 12-4 The Virginia Wildlife Center is bringing a couple of their gorgeous birds - hawks, owls, eagles, etc. - for us to see and enjoy. No charge to you, but we'll make some contibute some of the day's proceeds to support thier great work in education and rehabilitation. Great family event too.
Beat the Heat - Foothills Scenic Wine Trail Saturday, August 27, 2011, all day It may be hot up in the asphalt jungle but we will have some mountain breezes and chilled wine to help provide some relief. Come visit both DuCard and Sharp Rock (just up the road). Great local band Scuffletown will be playing at DuCard (2-5), plus we'll have lawn games, fun with water, and more - no cover charge. Sharp Rock will be having special library tastings ($5; proceeds donated to lyme disease research), 1-4. We'll both have fun gifts for everyone. Big fun.
Stonewall Jackson "March on DuCard" and 2nd Corps wine release party Saturday, August 6, 2011, 1-6 PM General Stonewall Jackson and his troops will march down the road and into the tasting room, where we will release our new 2nd Corps wine, commemorating the march by Jackson and his 25,000 man army over the mountains around the corner from us, on their way to the Battle of Fredricksburg. Reenactors will make camp at the winery and will be available to detail the live of soldiers on the move. A great event not to be missed. No charge. Family friendly. (March scheduled for 2 PM sharp)
Independence Day - Live music and local fireworks Monday, July 4, 2011, 2-8 PM We'll be staying open late, with an afternoon band, Whiskey Wagon on the patio, plenty of munchies available (or feel free to bring your own picnic) - so that we can go straight to the local fireworks afterwards, around the corner at Graves Mt. Lodge or up the road in Sperryville. Great wines, great views, big relaxation - dog and family friendly. Please join us.
CROSSROADS: Art Show and Possum Ridge String Band Sunday, June 12, 2011, 2-5 PM We'll be featuring great local artists who will be displaying their Madison County art in a tribute to the late Tucker Hilll, our neighbor and friend. Firnew Farm Artist Circle members will be painting in the vineyard during the afternoon, and the Possum Ridge String Band will be on stage. Come on out - we'll enjoy wine and local foods all day.

Wine-appalooza: Music and Craft Festival Saturday, May 21, 2011, 11 AM-6 PM+ Join us for our own full day of great local music and Appalachian crafts out on our back lawn. Drink some of our delicious wines and relax at our gorgeous location at the edge of Shenandoah National Park. Bring your own picnic or enjoy BBQ and other local foods that will be available for purchase.

New Vintage Release Party Saturday, April 30, 2011, 1-6 PM Join us as we release our new vintage of reds - including two fabulous new wines in our portfolio - a 2009 Petit Verdot single varietal and a 2009 Cabernet Franc Reserve. Both are very limited production wines that we've babied with tender loving care and are now ready to share with you. Our friend Curtis Prince will be on the patio with guitar and vocals to entertain you.
